The sword competition would sure get your mind of all the sucky things that had happened today.
You looked at the chalkboard listing everyone who was participating in the competition. You found your name third down the list next to someone named ‘Nico di Angelo’. You sighed as you walked to the arena bleachers. There were about two minutes before the competition begun and yet the bleachers were almost completely full.

As the first fight went down, you felt extremely giddy, sitting next to you brother, Link. He was fighting next. You looked up to see Travis Stoll fall to the ground and Clarisse pointed her sword to his neck. The Ares cabin burst into applause while the whole Hermes cabin looked disappointed.
“Wish me luck.” Link mumbled.
“You’re going to do great.”
“Next we have Link son of (your godly parent) versus Pollux son of Dionysus!” Chiron announced

The fight was over fairly quickly, my brother winning. With a smile you mentally prepared yourself for fighting this Nico character.
“Nico son of Hades against (y/n) daughter of (godly parent)” You stood up, took a shaky breath and walked toward the center of the arena. The boy, Nico, was on the opposite side walking down. We both entered the center at the same time. He looked at you and shifted uncomfortably.
“A girl?” He mumbled.
“Yeah, you got a problem with that?” You hissed.
“Enough, Fight!” Chiron shouted.

Our swords clashed. For the first couple moves you blocked, but you quickly realized he was holding back.
“Quit. Holding. Back.” You said loud enough for only him to hear. He pushed his sword harder. Your knuckles turning white from trying not to drop your sword. You quickly realized if you held this stance much longer he will win. You dropped to the ground and side kicked his ankles. He lost his balance and fell to the ground before he could get up you jumped up and pointed your sword at his throat. He looked like a deer in the headlights.

After enjoying your victory applause you looked behind you about to help Nico up, but he was already gone. A flash of sadness ran over you, but for only a short second.  You walked over to your brother who gave you a high-five.
“That was awesome!” Link stated.
“He held back. I want a rematch” You crossed your arms.

After Chiron announced the next two fighters you carefully snuck away hoping you would find this mysteries son of Hades. You walked slowly into the woods gripping your swords.
You walked on till you heard a snap. You whipped around, your eyes widened as everything slowed down.
Nico who was midair was about to crash into you. His ‘war’ face slowly turned into a shocked one. Then you two hit the ground. Him on top of you.
“I knew you were holding back!” You pushed him off you. He scurried to his feet and started to fast walk away. “Oh, hells no, get back here.”

You got up and chased after him. “Why’d you hold back? I want a rematch. Stop walking so fast.” Nico whipped around. You hadn’t realized how handsome he was now that you weren’t fighting him.
“Stop following me.” His voice was small, but gruff.
“Then rematch me and I’ll stop.”
“Fine.” He mumbled.

“Good.” We circled each other, our eyes looked. He charged at me. Hit you side with the blunt part of his sword. You bent over grabbing your side. He kicked you in the chest. You fell back in complete shock.

“I went easy on you because I like you.” Ha said dropping his sword into the shadows.
“Then ask me out.” He looked just as shocked and you were. He paused for a moment. He looked in deep thought
“Will you go out with me?”
